On September 19-27, the head of the Civil Service Bureau, Catherine Kardava, along with other Georgian delegates, visited the city of La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA. There, they took part in the Open World Program. This program is sponsored by US government and was first initiated by the US Congress in 1999. Since then, it has hosted thousands of representatives of different Eurasian countries.

During the visit, the delegates met various government and university officials, as well as college lecturers. At the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, local professors conducted a series of lectures on a range of topics, including civic engagement, public policy and other interesting issues related to civil service. After the completion of the lectures, the Georgian delegation made a presentation about the Civil Service Reform in Georgia, thereby acquainting their US colleagues not only with the current situation, but also the future challenges pertaining to the reform.

In the following days, the Georgian delegation visited Madison, capital city of the state of Wisconsin, as well as the city of Sparta. There, they met with representatives of several educational and public institutions. The main topics discussed during these meetings involved human resources and other strategic issues.
