Carl Friedrich Goerdeler-Kolleg Program for Good Governance
The Kolleg provides advanced training for the next generation of executives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine in the field of good governance, and in doing so, promotes a responsible, sustainable way of conducting business in the public sector in these countries.
The Kolleg offers future policymakers the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of political interrelationships and international cooperation. They will meet with experts from civil society, politics, and administration in Germany and the EU, and receive advanced training in a variety of seminars. These encounters allow all the participants to discuss and share their ideas and experiences in a unified Europe.
They will be supported in this process by the director of the Kolleg, Prof. Gunter Verheugen, former vice president of the European Commission, who will guide the participants through the program.
The Kolleg provides the participants with the opportunity to develop and implement their own project in the area of Good Governance which relates to their work and is of use for their home institution. The project outline is already included in the application. During the Kolleg, the participants advance and improve their projects and are accompanied by an experienced project coach.
Participants are given the opportunity to spend certain days observing institutions in Berlin and the surrounding areas that are related to their field of work. Following the Kolleg, the participants are expected to independently implement their project in their home country.
The Goerdeler-Kolleg is conducted as a joint project with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
