The unified approach of the performance appraisal system has been introduced in public institutions since January 1, 2018. The appraisal cycle ended in December 2018.

The outcomes of the performance appraisal in 2018 revealed positive changes, disclosed challenges and planned future steps to improve the appraisal process.

Implementation of performance appraisal system serves to establish an efficient, transparent and accountable civil service, which is one of the important preconditions for open governance.

The new legislative framework establishes the obligation of an annual performance appraisal, outline and assess the need for professional development and motivation.
